How we map a workflow before we build anything
The one-page map we draw in every audit, and why it saves more time than the build.

Most automation projects go wrong before anyone opens a tool. The workflow on paper is not the workflow people actually run.
Start with the trigger
Every workflow starts with one event: a form, an email, a signed contract. Write it down in plain words. If you can’t name the trigger, you don’t have a workflow yet.
Follow one real example
Pick last Tuesday’s enquiry and trace it end to end. Who touched it, in which tool, how long did it wait? The waiting is usually where the hours go.
Mark what needs judgement
Some steps need a person. Mark them early and design around them, rather than pretending everything can be automated.
